Job Summary

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and assessment of a developmentally appropriate curriculum for a classroom of children ranging from 3 months to 12 years (specific age group assigned). This role requires maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports the mission of Jannie Babies Childcare to provide reliable, high-quality, and round-the-clock care. The Lead Teacher mentors the Teacher Assistant and maintains strong, professional communication with parents.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.

• Conduct ongoing observation and assessment of children, utilizing data to inform and adapt teaching methods.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that meets all licensing and safety standards.

• Supervise and mentor the Teacher Assistant, delegating tasks and ensuring effective team collaboration.

• Establish and maintain positive, professional, and frequent communication with parents regarding their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children closely during all activities, meals, nap times, and transitions to ensure their safety and well-being.

• Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the classroom, ensuring materials are accessible and age-appropriate.

• Provide direct, nurturing care for children, including diapering, toileting, and feeding, as needed.

• Engage actively with children to promote positive social interactions and model appropriate behavior.

• Assist in documentation, including daily reports, attendance records, and observation notes.

• Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a positive and communicative relationship with parents.
