Assistant Daycare Teacher
Job Summary
The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in the daily operations of the classroom and the implementation of the educational program. The Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, organized, and nurturing environment, directly engaging with children (ages 3 months to 12 years) and assisting with classroom management and routine care duties.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily activities, lesson plans, and classroom routines.
Supervise children closely during all activities, meals, nap times, and transitions to ensure their safety and well-being.
Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the classroom, ensuring materials are accessible and age-appropriate.
Provide direct, nurturing care for children, including diapering, toileting, and feeding, as needed.
Engage actively with children to promote positive social interactions and model appropriate behavior.
Assist in documentation, including daily reports, attendance records, and observation notes.
Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a positive and communicative relationship with parents.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess one of the following:
High-school or GED
Prior experience working with children in a group setting is preferred.
Must be reliable, flexible, and capable of working a varied schedule, including potential evening or overnight shifts, to support the center’s round-the-clock care model.
Demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children.
